Game is not fun and the nerfs made it worse for me
Played for a month (avg 8 hr/day) and got bored in maps. Made another character and got bored before reaching cruel.
I can't decide if it's worth to try again. I guess, I could drop 100 hours and get bored again or I could just go outside and enjoy spring. Last bumped on Apr 4, 2025, 10:09:52 AM

Nerfs are good.
Stop complaining. Just play, explore, and enjoy. A week later, people will inevitably find some OP build and switch to it if you’re only focused on one-button OP builds. In my opinion, Path of Exile is all about discovery and enjoyment. The only issue is FOMO – it pushes us to rush towards the OP build, while the trade system is frustratingly outdated. That’s really the only annoying part of the game. GGG, please fix the trade system. Everything else is fine – keep nerfing, adjusting, and improving the game. |

I'm going to remind y'all that the patch notes did not include:
1. all the skill gem changes, which were too numerous to list in detail, 2. any of the 100 new support gems, also too numerous to list in detail, or 3. any of the 100 new unique items, of which we've only seen a handful. All three of these things are critical to player power, and you know nothing about them yet. Yes, they nerfed a bunch of broken interactions that were clearly trivializing the entirety of the end game in ways which were obviously never the intention. That doesn't mean they haven't also given us new tools to do fun things with awesome builds that we don't know yet. I'm keen to see what's new in there, that I haven't seen yet. There is so much of this game that I haven't even touched yet, including five of the original six classes, and their associated ascendancies. That I get to explore all that without the entire game having already been solved by combining a handful of broken mechanics makes that more exciting, not less. You will feel how you feel, of course, but I would advise you to give it chance before passing judgment. And then do that again in three or four months when the next round of major changes shake things up again... and again... and again... until the game is finally finished, and we actually know what the shape of the finished product is going to be. Stay sane, exiles!

" Correct, they released incomplete patch notes. We already had pages and pages of notes. I don't know why they didn't just have 3 separate threads listing skill changes, new supports, and uniques. All these guys do is find a way to upset players over and over. |

You mean an ARPG game patched out something and reset the economy and nerfed things? What is the world coming to?
Honestly, I've put in over 1000 hours building 5 lvl90+ characters that are all now absolutely worthless; so unless you have invested a similar amount of time, your whining means little. While I was hoping for some more farming time with the heralds and spark and all of that, to say this was unexpected is to be grossly disingenuous and it's smacks of ignorance regarding an entire genre of game. But what do I know, I've only been gaming for 30 years. Go play something else. I might put in some Monster Hunter time until I get the motivation to make a huntress. Stupid people never lose an argument.
