Just Delete Blood Mage
It is a dead ascendancy when you don't adjust the glaring issue with Sanguimancy eating up BOTH Hp and Mana.

" isnt that the point of blood mage? use your toolkit to counteract it with Leech and you will be fine, there are plenty of things in the passive tree that make leech instant, and there are some uniques for it now as well. |

I don't think he is having an issue with the whole health thing, though, it's about the fact that you still have your mana pool which will gate your spellcasting, meaning you have to scale both which is awkward and doesn't fit the archetype thematically. You could get the Blood Mage keystone but that's an awkward and tacky solution and doesn't promote player choice. You're already a blood mage, shouldn't have to double blood mage.
I think this is OPs point. EDIT: This also coincides with the fact that this is one of the new ascendancies with the REQUIRED node. Man that feels awful. And there are so many branches in ascendancies that are two notables deep, which feel awful if you don't get both, which also feels awful, and I think Blood Mage might even have some of them, after having a required starting node. fully agree. this ascendancy feels terrible and made my friend actually quit the game because it was literally objectively better to not spec ascendancy points AT ALL until trial 2.
the first node needs to be completely reworked especially if it's mandatory. the design is completely dumpsterfire trash tier and there's been feedback about this for months now. moreover build guides for the class from people who play the game professionally also recommending not putting points in until later because the first node IS ALMOST COMPLETE DOWNSIDE. you are REQUIRED to run high crit to play it but youre also not even guaranteed crits or even close by the time you get it so sustaining life is not a given on bosses which are already difficult AND you still have to pay FULL MANA up front? seriously? absolute garbage. if vitality siphon was built into it at least there'd be something worth talking about but holy hell is it terrible feeling. |

Maybe sanguimansy isn't mandatory after new patch. Just thinking this because patch notes say:
"Added a new Between the Cracks Ascendancy Passive Skill that causes Critical Hits to ignore Monster Armour. Requires Sanguimancy." So whats the point stating it requires sanguimansy if you are forced to take it. Don't know if it will fix the ascendary but at least it could be something if this will be the case. |

Doing your 1st ascendancy should reward players to make them feel like they got stronger, and sanguimancy does the opposite of that, i don't even know what to say when i see ggg not addressing such a design flaw asap
Like, do they really think that was a good ideia? Or are they somehow oblivious about the problem it creates? |
