in-game frieze affecting windows operation
Over the past month, I have encountered such a problem that path of exile 1 can freeze after a long gaming session, so interacting with windows by launching the task manager does not lead to anything other than endless loading and freezes on the part of windows itself, interestingly, even turning off the PC via start does not turn off the computer. the interior of the case and the periphery are glowing. I initially thought that the problem could be in the miner, or a custom build of my windows 10, or in raw versions of the graphics card drivers or windows updates. I tried everything and a complete reinstallation of windows with the deletion of all files. the problem remained, and the same error appeared on the newly installed windows 10 after launch, I actually wasn't even allowed into the game, the introductory screen with the server selection and the play button just froze... the last thing I tried and what really looks like at least some kind of solution to the issue is rolling back the driver version, disabling windows updates and playing various commands inside the system shell like DISM /Online/Cleanup-Image/RestoreHealth, which really had at least some result in the end...everything is stable at the moment. but as I understand it, this problem also exists in path of exile 2, judging by a recent stream with path of exile 2 graphics developer Alexander Sannikov, who literally described my question, only giving an example on the windows 11 h2 2024 build. I hope that the developers will be able to find a quick solution to the issue, because in my experience of playing games since 2017, I have never had anything like this happen, especially since the game itself not only crashed or caused permafrease, but also literally did the same thing with windows.
