Atlas Reset with dawn of the hunt?

On the legacy servers will the atlas be reset to reflect the drastic changes of dawn of the hunt is making to the atlas? In the announcement they stated even existing players can have all the new content but with the changes to the atlas this would seem that the whole map would have to be reset and you would start over on a brand new atlas map on your existing character which is fine I would love to be able to jump right into the new improved atlas on my level 93 monk instead of having to grind all the way to get to the improved atlas. I will be creating new alts on the dawn of the hunt server of course as well. thanks for any feedback..

I had the same thought. Possibly, the patch note would clarify that.

Start a new character in the new reset season.

perhaps it will be possible to use the /ResetAtlas command that is used to fix a bricked atlas

The Atlas resets every league in PoE1 standard, it will reset every league in PoE2 standard too.

This is exactly what I want to know.

To me I don't understand this 'League' if all content is available in standard.
I can just use the resources I already have, roll a new char and experience all the new features in standard with the benefit of what I have already farmed.

For SSF rolling a new character in standard or 'League' you would have the exact same experience? Nothing is different?

I believe the only thing that hasn't been confirmed is what happens to the Atlas Map, this would be the only reason I would bother to roll a character in this 'League', if the new Atlas was only in the Dawn of the Hunt.

It will be. New leagues will have exclusive content in the future. They didnt do it for this one because too many people were complaining about character reset.

I understand normal leagues have exclusive content but as this one doesn't.... its meaningless, people are just playing in two different Standard Leagues that are EXACTLY the same.

I do not understand your complaint.

Did you ever play Ladder on Diablo 2? There is and always has been only one purpose to Leagues.


To Refresh the economy and progress , so that everyone starts fresh at the same time.

It was never about exclusive or special content only accessible on league.

that was something diablo 3 and path of exile decided to do, but it was never originally like that....

if you need exclusive content to enjoy a league, than you are missing the entire point


It would be better if Leagues never had exclusive content... ( mechanics sure, but not gear/powers/etc )

This could use some clarification. I don't plan to start fresh this league so I need to know if my Atlas will reset or not. Since we're in EA it could be different so it would be better to know in advance. If we get no news this week about it, I'm gonna have to clear some of the stuff on my Atlas like citadels, etc just in case.

Not everyone plays like this, I play without trades so my characters progress very slowly so unless my characters are completely done, I don't feel the need to start fresh.
