Scammers INgame POE2
Hey all,
I have reported right after trade but the character name [Removed by Support] Scammed me out of my Temporalis Silk armor. I was selling for 420 Divine orbs, Well During trade it looked like he put those in, Stacks of ten etc. (I guess i should have read) but after trade i have Stacks of 20 (equal to 420) Orbs of Alchemy. So 1st Warning on making trade with that player 2nd besides reporting what else could be done about this? Turns out online there is a scamming spree ingame. Is GG even doing anything or they let it go on and people losing what the work hard for? Thank you for any info or help in advance. No, ggg doesn't need to do anything about it.
There's no scamming spree either. Some people just learn the hard way, unfortunately. |

I assume that you invested a lot of time to learn the mechanics of the game, to overcome the game bosses, etc. just learn to distinguish between alchemy/divine orb and be careful.
It was your fault when you clicked the "accept" button. This trading system in POE has existed since 2012 and there is no indication that it will change soon. Therefore, adapt or give up! Last edited by xaerobb_#8468 on Mar 24, 2025, 12:59:56 PM

420D? I'd be up at the screen with a magnifying glass.
~ There are spectacular moments.

Trade system is 100% scamproof.
If you still manage to get scammed it is on you. [Removed by Support]
Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them “The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.” |

Yeh i guess people would say it is my fault typical response. When someone goes through and puts stacks of ten and me trying to make sure the count was right and overlooked what name and face... ..... But yeh lesson leraned for sure and also learned scamming players is alright. So thank you

May want to do your research on that. I didn't think it until i searched due to being scammed. Sadly GGG condones it to edit the post saying its an attack on a player (wtf) let others know who to watch out for.

Don't you have to hover over what the other person is trading before you can click accept?
That means you hovered over and SAW Orbs of Alchemy. And still clicked accept. So not really a scam, you accepted the trade after seeing what the other person put up which was 420 Orbs of Alchemy. PoE1 Dead
PoE2 Dead on Arrival PoEM ??????? |

" So I take it you've never tried 'naming & shaming' on one of Blizzard's forums, or one of Wargaming's forums, or... actually, the only game-focused forum I can think of off the top of my head which does allow for naming & shaming is Eve Online's - and if you think GGG favour scammers, you'd really hate CCP Games. Years back I was a CM in the games industry, and one of the very first things I did in the job was work on a new forum and type up a rule about how 'naming & shaming' constitutes harassment. I think you're a decent person who's operating in good faith - but if you'd forgive the commentary, I also think you've lost the forest for the trees. I get that the experience that you have had this time is someone scammed you in-game, and you feel like you're the injured party and that you're being constrained by the rules as they are. You're not wrong, either. The problem is that your friend's experience, or the experience you yourself have a month from now, will be someone in the game takes a dislike to you for whatever reason, and so they'll come to the forum and tell everyone all about how you illegally hacked your way into their hideout, emptied their stash, slept with their girlfriend, and shot their dog. And this will immediately lead to you reporting their post for harassment. They're lying. It isn't fair! ...but how on earth is a forum moderator supported to have the first clue whether something posted on the internet is true or a lie? It's not reasonable to 1) expect the rules to change as-and-when is convenient for you, 2) expect strangers in another country to be capable of reading your mind, or, 3) expect forum moderators to spend two hours combing through chat logs every time a forum post gets reported to them. The only workable solution is a blanket policy; either so-called 'naming & shaming' is permitted, or it is not. GGG decided that it is not. GGG chose correctly. "VPs are not required to change their posting style. They are still welcome to express their opinions and take part in any discussions they wish. Their only responsibility is to continue doing what they have always done - posting in a friendly and constructive manner."
