Endgame Mapping: It can be more fun than you think.

First, I apologize for the click bait title. This is a discussion on how it can be better *if* GGG makes some changes.

Second, layouts need to be changed, most are really bad.

Now for the main course. In my estimation the main issue with the endgame is that you have to play maps you don't want to play. Let's ignore towers for now, I think we all agree they aren't in a great place right now, but I contend a big part of that is having to clear bad maps first - not an inherent issue.

So what can be done? The game already has a cool biome system so let's build off that. What if when you "socket" a map you could select the layout from the pool available for that biome? It keeps the feeling of exploring a world, which is a good upgrade from PoE1 IMO, and which still helps keep players from just running one map over and over due to the biome RNG; while letting people avoid layouts they hate. (And if everybody is avoiding the same set of layouts why are they in the game anyways?)

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk, once again, the endgame would be instantly much better while still maintaining the PoE2 feel with this change. Now I'll take questions.

Itemization feels really bland and boring compared to PoE 1, so no matter how much i farm its gonna be boring when comparing it to poe 1. sorry, but its the reality.
