Is it possible to get negative resistances more then once on act 1 cruel?

Standing in Act 1 Cruel in the first city right now, and just noticed a huge negative resistance.

Without anything on my body i have

-40 fire
-30 lightning
-20 cold.


It seems very high, is this normal? I went back to act 3/2 normal a few times because i had to reskill.. can this be the problem?

And in the Wiki article Resistance:

"

Characters receive a -10% penalty to elemental resistance at certain area level thresholds, approximately around the end of each act. By endgame, the cumulative penalty is -60% to all elemental resistances.

But the penalty in Act 1 Cruel (Act 4) should only be -30% (without the quest rewards).

Do you perhaps have a Controlled Metamorphosis jewel in your passive tree? Having -10% to elemental resistances there would explain it.
