Can you have 2 accounts linked to 1 Steam account (PoE 1)?

I have created a PoE 1 account directly through Steam; that account isn't linked with any existing account on PoE website, I login to it directly by launching the game through Steam.

You can merge two Path of Exile accounts with different login methods via your account management page found here.
Once merged, you'll be able to choose which subaccount you'd like to play while on the character select screen! | |
" By "merging" you mean what I just decribed? I connect the Poe account to Steam account which already has another PoE account linked to it and those accounts should become "merged"? |
