Possible Fix for crashes on newer gen Intel systems?
-= TL;DR: =-
Allocating only the E-Cores of my CPU to the game fixed the crashes. This can be done through the Task Manager after every game start-up. I’ve set this up through Process Lasso, so I don’t need to adjust it every time I launch the game. -= What I've Tried =- For the past two weeks, I’ve been experiencing crashes while playing the game on my new high-end rig. The game would consistently crash after about 10–20 minutes of gameplay. I followed the troubleshooting steps from the official guide, but unfortunately, they didn’t help: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3072628 I even went as far as completely wiping my system and reinstalling everything from scratch, just to rule out any potential issues with my setup. I wasn’t running any OC (except for XMP on my RAM). Enabling/Disabling TVB in the BIOS didn’t change the crashing behavior. I also tested different LLC settings for the CPU, as well as a slight overvolt, just in case I had a faulty chip. Still no change. Looking at the Event Viewer, sometimes the crash seemed to be related to the KernelBase.dll, but I think it's unlikely to be a Windows issue, especially since the system is a fresh install. Now, I’m no longer experiencing crashes after I removed the affinity for the P-Cores and allocated the game only to the E-Cores. -= System Specs: =- Motherboard: Asus Apex Encore Z790 CPU: Intel Core i9-14900K GPU: RTX 4070 Ti RAM: 64GB 6600 MT/s Last bumped on Mar 7, 2025, 5:40:25 PM
