Keys Problem

I got a key for Path of Exile 2 from a friend, and I installed the game on Steam using that key. But now, when I try to play, it says I don’t have access to the game and that I need to pay for it. I’m really confused because I thought the key would give me Early Access. What should I do? I’ve checked that the key was redeemed on my Steam account, but it still doesn’t work. Has anyone else had this issue, or does anyone know how to fix it? Should I contact support or try linking my Steam and Path of Exile accounts again?
