Octopus Microtransaction can only be muted with the master volume

Turning all SFX and etc to 0, you can't hear anything whatsoever, yet you can still hear the octopus.
Is it a Sound Effect? Ambient Sound? Dialog perhaps? Lovecraftian horror that's for sure...
