Completed Temple of Chaos but not able to ascend

Completed level 75 Temple of Chaos but when I reached the end of the trial I wasn't able to claim my ascendancy points. I received a piece of the key and was able to insert that into the keyhole but when I tried to portal out of the end it wouldn't take me to a new room or claim ascendancy points. Had to log out and back in to reset.
