Disconnected when running Chaos Trials, lost all my progress!

I was on round 9 of the Trial of Chaos, in the middle of a fight, when the game disconnected out of nowhere. When I logged back in, instead of finding the game paused, I was outside the trial, and the key I had slotted was gone.

What kind of BS is that? It wasn’t my fault, yet I have to lose all my progress? I was almost at the end, about to get my ascendancy! How is that fair??? I’m so sick of this game’s punishing nonsense! I hope that's a bug.
