Stuck in ACT 1 Cruel to ACT 2 Cruel

I'm stuck at the end of ACT 1 Cruel after killing Count Geonor. Hooded one opens portal back to town. Once in town I'm unable to get the quest from the hooded one to progress to ACT 2. Unable to progress even after resetting instance. I tried thrice. Please help.
