unable to reach stone citadel

I have removed most of the fog around the citadel and there is no map nodes that connect to the stone citadel that I can see. not sure if its a bug or not.

In my experience (and those in my party), the stone citadel, as well as the citadel area, is bugged. We have had the entire area outside the castle show random glitches. We have also killed the boss successfully and cleared every single monster in the area and not been able to advance. We tried it again and the game crashed during the boss fight. Not sure what the issue is.
