Instead of chat muting everyone - set up a global chat room that "offenders" are sent to..

Its really absurd that people are having innocent fun and saying simple things and getting chat muted for hours and days.

Why don't you instead make a chat room that you send "offenders" to.

I use the word offenders very loosely because I've seen people chat muted for saying that they feel bad for the slaves in act 2...
This is insane..

Set up a Global 10 or something where we can go and not have to deal with the nonsense of you muting us entirely.

Instead of being permanently muted for 30 hours - we get sent to Global 10 for 30 hours.
And I guarantee it will be the most liked global channel in game

I’d pay extra to be able to frequent the chat where offenders are banished to.
I agree - its where the fun is.
All this muting everyone is lame and going to make me quit the game.

Definitely agree… the amount of muting going on is ridiculous
I like it, its like GTA Online's policy of instead of banning cheaters, they just put all of them in a server together. Cheeky, effective, and everybody gets to have their fun.

I have been in many games that do this. They send the offenders to their own little Alcatraz, and they let them do whatever they want. (outside of some serious things that would result in perma-ban)

DotA 2 did it. It had a player behavior score, and if you're only paired with people around the same behavior score. I haven't seen any so much as insult someone else in that game in months because of it. But my buddy, who likes to flame in-game sometimes. CONSTANTLY gets shoved into games where people are so busy typing and flaming eachother that it's just a literal clown show.

PoE could totally do something similar. Let those people flame and insult and swear all they want, in their own little bubble. Let like, play with like. They could even only let them trade with eachother. Which would make better behavior incentivized, so they could trade with the general population.

I have seen stuff like this work wonders in making the game community MUCH better overall. And you don't necessarily even have to mute anyone or ban them. Incentivizing the good behavior tends to work better than punishments do. In DotA 2, you're put into a low priority pool, and then you are with other flamers. But the game experience is awful because of it. But it doesn't stop you from playing.

The more you do it, the worse the games get. But if you behave, you're quick to get out and back into the general population. They could just perma-ban you, but that's counter-productive in most cases.

Probably some law that doesn't protect GGG from the shit people say. Hence why they have to actively censor mundane banter to make a conversation "constructive." Whatever vague bs that means.
