Navigating the interface on console
Feels like this needs a lot of work.
I spend a lot of time passing items from my itinerary to tabs and it always a tedious experience. Often the tool tips seem to clash or don't work as promised. For instance, today I am trying to work out how I change the "show:" status on the unique tab but it shares the same right thumb stick as the "size:" slider. I am sure there is a way of switching to "show:" as I can see some combination of button mashing has switched the filter by accident but I have no idea how I did it. I know there is no great solution for a controller with such a complicated interface but it needs a lot of love. As a console player, I feel like I fight the game a lot, more so than needs be. Plenty of games seem to do this a lot better. Have you considered an option to switch to a roving cursor much like a game like destiny? Whilst I don't love mousing around with a controller, it would make navigation in POE2 a lot easier. That or put a lot more considered design in how you want to allocate buttons on a controller. There is an art form to this that I think you are missing. As I've said, plenty of games get this right. Last bumped on Feb 24, 2025, 4:36:25 PM

You can trigger the advanced stat info always showing by holding LS + quick move an item from your inventory to your stash (this is the button combo to bypass tab affinity settings). I haven't looked to see if this displays stats for uniques in the unique tab but it will show affix tiers for all other items as you hover over them until you press RS to compare items (where it would normally show the advanced stat info). once you compare it goes back to only displaying advanced info when you compare and you have to trigger it always showing again.

Changing inventory keybinds from PoE1 was a huge mistake. I don't have the unique tab so I'm not familiar with how it works, but I wouldn't be surprised if this issue is a direct result of changing the button mapping. There's so much wrong with inventory management in PoE2 that playing Phrecia, pretty much the only thing about PoE2 I'm missing right now is not getting DCed constantly.
I'd have to log on to doublecheck, but I think they even flipped the buttons that swap between stash tabs and that move stash tabs from PoE1 to 2. It makes absolutely no sense and I've found it very disorienting now that I'm back on PoE1. " Doesn't pressing LS just open the search keyboard? I kept trying to hold LS to compare items and having the search bar pounce on me instead. EDIT: Just logged on to test, nice to see that the affinity bypass does in fact work without trigger the search bar (although that still needs to be moved off LS, it doesn't even need a hotkey, just select it like in PoE1). I also confirmed that, yes, the button mapping for swapping between and moving tabs is absolutely flipped from PoE1 to 2, which, to reiterate, is absolute madness. Inventory management in PoE2 feels less like a sequel and more like a brand new game made by a completely different studio. I really don't get it.
