Xbox Profanity Filter
Hello,
I would like to disable the profanity filter that replaces parts or whole words with ***** on xbox. I do not see an option to disable text censorship on xbox. I have reviewed my xbox settings and removed any profanity or safety settings that imply it could affect the game by displaying astrix instead of text. I am wondering if anyone who plays on xbox has found a way to disable the in game profanity settings. I am aware that on PC there is a tab for 'interface' under 'Options' where this option can be turned off. This is not available on xbox. Below is an screenshot of the xbox Options screen: ![]() Thanks in advance for any helpful replies. Last bumped on Feb 22, 2025, 2:25:03 AM

+1, especially it filters some polish words that are not profanity.

" There are worse cases, there are words like ‘knights’ which are on expedition logbooks that you might want to buy but the word is filtered due to fairly obvious reason. Their filter list needs to exist to remove offensive word use but, having worked for over a decade on server management in the past, any filter list can also have rule exceptions. So you can blacklist an offensive word or part of a word but still whitelist a word that have a black listed word within it. True story, I worked for a water agency in Wales who were working for a project for a council in the UK in a town called Scunthorpe (Google it, you’ll see it’s a real place) but every email was being blocked by the server and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out why. We (the server team) quickly figured out what was happening and whitelisted the town name overriding the bkacklisted part. This is a prime example of why a word like Knights (from logbooks) should be white listed. (ALL typos lack of caps, punctuation and general errors are copyright Timbo Industries - Laziness Division)
