You may need to provide more information, for example which client you are using and whether you are using a controller interface. Being able to conclusively reproduce it would be helpful, even if that meant losing another item (if you chose to, you could test with a less valuable unique).
The Uniques tab normally will not allow you to place a duplicate unique and will simply leave the item on your cursor or in your inventory while writing an error message to the chat log. There are some exceptions where the tab will allow an alternate version of a unique (foils / reliquary items, for example). _____ I am playing on the PC standalone client using keyboard (WASD) and mouse. The tab appears to behave identically to how it functions in POE1. - In my case, if I try to manually drop a duplicate unique into the tab, I get an error message that there is no room for the item and the item stays on my cursor. - If I try to manually drop the item directly on top of the existing item, I get the same error with the item remaining on my cursor (they are not swapped). - If I shift-control-click from inventory into the uniques tab, I get the same error and the item stays in inventory. - If I control-click from inventory with the uniques tab open, I get a different error message that the stash tab with the Uniques affinity has no room for the item and the item remains in my inventory. - If I control-click from inventory to another tab (with the uniques affinity active), I get the second error message about the tab with affinity having no room and the item remains in my inventory. - I checked if I could set the uniques affinity to multiple tabs, in which case a second tab might take the item when the first is full, but the game won't let me do that in POE2. - I even tried removing the original item from the tab, logging out, changing towns, and adding both items at once where the item did not pre-exist in the tab. I received the same error. - I tried it with and without the Uniques affinity set, making no difference. I did not test exhaustively or with all item types (nor could I), but having more information about your client and use case may help GGG to identify if there is a specific issue that doesn't affect everyone. Perhaps it behaves differently for some of the recently added uniques, as much as it should not. Note: The error messages that I gave were not exact. I actually took a screenshot of the messages to provide the verbatim error text, but the game removed the chat log from the screen when saving the screenshot. :| |
