Just bought PoE 2. Purposely kept myself "in the dark" as possible, but are there any nuggets of knowledge that could be useful for me, going in please?

I played quite a bit of the first game, so not going to be totally lost, but figured I might as well you Guys if you have any "Quick Tips" for my first delve.

I think I will pick a Witch/Summoner as my first character, as it was the last thing I played in the first game, so maybe some of that will transfer over. I do have a build to look at, if I feel I get stuck though.

Also, why do I have a number next to my name now? That's new.

50% of players in the game are stormweavers.

They use spark. That should be your build if you want it easy.

You don't have to use the recommended gems. You can uncheck the box.

You are expected to trade for items when you get to maps and done with the campaign. And honestly if you want the best experience, get 5-10 exalts and use them to buy gear for the campaign.

The number is something they use so two bobs can use the same name such as Bob. They spend a number.

I played the first game, so familiar with the trading aspect.

It's slower. Areas are larger. Exalts are now intended to be used and have a drop rate akin to Fusings. No more alterations or scourings, so pick up white items for crafting.

Thanks. I noticed that Exalts drop like regular mats now.

Started with a Witch, probably doing an Ice Summoner.
