Question about Post-death effects and Frost Charm
Two things have killed me recently that really make me question if these working as designed.
Lightning effects always seem to remain after an enemy dies, and sometimes it seems the tornadoes as well. I thought they said they were stopping effects as soon as enemies die. Second thing, I freeze even when I have charges left on my freeze charm. Is that normal? Do I misunderstand how it is supposed to work? If I were to be frozen it protects me, and the charge comes off (shown in the toolbar at bottom of screen). But I get frozen with charges left on it. Last bumped on Feb 16, 2025, 9:32:29 AM

They made it so some of the mobs abilities despawn upon death, but not all.
After death affects are still in the game (dropping frost bombs, exploding corpses, blighted/burning ground, etc) and stuff like volatile cores persist. As for the frozen charm thing, no idea. Mine seems to work fine. Only thing i can think of is there's 1 mob that can immobilize the player for a couple seconds just like freeze would, but it's like a stun/root or something. (big hulking dude, stands still for while then shoots a long spike out of its hand) |

The effect that got me because i didnt really expect it at the time (later on i knew to look out for it so only got me the once) was blue lightning on the ground. I thought it was all effects, so that explains that part, thanks!
Second one I could see my guy frozen and my guy was surrounded by ice, so pretty sure it was a frozen effect, unless they use that same animation for several things. |
