Delirium + Maven craziness!

Holy crap. So I'm still exploring what types of content I like doing (so far only sold on Harvest, as its profits are just insane to me), and I recently tried Delirium's perma-fog via "Unending Nightmare," combined with the Destructive Play node for Maven that I always take (all those boss drops seems too good to pass up).

But holy CRAP. Combined??? Is it just me, or is this totally insane content? I was able to clear a few maps no problem, other than taking maybe a couple minutes to finish the boss fights, even in tight little rooms. The boss EHP with that fog scaling is absolutely in outer space. And I was able to tank most hits, but some combinations of things got me to scary HP/Mana (I play MoM).


But I just did one map... and it took me a LONG time to work away at their HP. Survival wise, I was playing evasive, but the things that hit me didn't even seem to move my health.

... Then BAM! I got PoE'd. My character just dropped dead from a heart attack, and I didn't even see anything connect. I had 100% Life and 100% Mana.

I go back in. Same thing happens again, in a few seconds. Again, I see nothing connect. Keep in mind, I was sitting in that room fighting for like 5 minutes, and nothing threatened me.

I go in a third time, BAM, same thing!

By now, I load up OBS to try to see what's even happening. And SURE ENOUGH, it never happened again, and I finished the fight a minute later. I killed one of the bosses first, and it may have been what caused the problem, I don't know. I kind of wonder if it was a boss with an enrage timer? Which, obviously, would be a shitty setup with the Delirium fog buffing its EHP to cataclysmic levels, and Maven popping heals.




Anyway, I'm not complaining - I'm more so asking, is this normal? I feel like my character's pretty strong. Nothing crazy like those "YT video" characters people make, who play this game and make money for doing so... (lol).

But I have a good 22k physical EHP before Arcane Cloak buff, and I have a good ~15 mil AoE DPS with it. Call me a newb, but I would say that's pretty strong, and it's COLOSSALLY stronger than any character I've ever made on PoE before. But this experience (pun) makes me feel like I need to take off Maven + Delirium if I want to push my leveling. Is this combination known for being super difficult? Or is it not even in the upper end, and my character just sucks ass and I'm the worst PoE player and there's something that just isn't clicking for me? Lmao.
