Steaming Springs Map final Boss dead but cant leave arena to clear rest of map

Map was half done when I got to the final Boss, kinda snake.
After killing ot I could not leave arena again to clear rest of the map, so I could not finish the map.

On the exit the was a red smoke curtain which prevented me from leaving
