poe2 stuttering with 6700xt, works fine for the first 30mins
im playing poe2 via steam(and all its magic) on a fedora41
as the title states game runs superb(for minutes) then the game stutters heavily i already undervolted and underclocked my gpu but the problem still persists (gpu temp at 60deg) this happens in 1440p both in 144 and 60fps pc specs cpu: 5700x (cooled by peerless assassin mini) gpu: sapphire nitro 6700xt ram: corsair ddr4 8GBx2 (OC to 3200mhz) (passes memory stress test via stressapptest) (i could test via other apps if you have suggestions) psu: cooler master 750 gold 80+ (mini itx version) OS: fedora 41 gpu driver: MESA 24.3.4 game is installed in a 512 kingston ssd (not m.2 though) attaching a video showing behavior and historical data from LACT the GPU and MEMORY clocks dips down and then climbs up as the game stutters https://www.youtube.com/shorts/7drGWEP4DVg EDIT: looking at the footage, the CPU bar/graph maxes out during the stuttering, as usual- thoughts on this? EDIT: ran the GPU in FurMark at 1440p and it went steady 93 to 97fps for 32mins... i think GPU is good EDIT: closing the game and immediately starting it resolves the stuttering, having to do this every 15-30mins tho is kinda tiring, like poe2's endgame ;^) EDIT: it seems to be CPU issue, the CPU graph is going from 7ms to 50+ms during the stuttering event ------------------------------------------------------------------------ EDIT: played poe1 for 1hr and no stuttering issues, this could/might be a poe2 spaghetti code issue POE2 char specs crit(70%) spark bloodmage with choir of the storm equipped maybe a dev team could try my setup and replicate the issue on their end? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ EDIT: played with another poe2 char and issue persists- not a choir trigger related bug exit to login screen does not clear the issue vs. exiting the game ------------------------------------------------------------------------ EDIT: stuttering issue also occurs in poe1... damn it seems to be a cpu issue on my end :( ------------------- Last edited by toms100#4703 on Feb 16, 2025, 5:24:20 AM Last bumped on Feb 13, 2025, 9:23:51 PM

thanks for the tip,
turning multi threading on and off during stuttering worsened the stutters and the fps, any more thoughts? EDIT: looking at the footage, the CPU bar/graph maxes out during the stuttering, as usual- thoughts on this? Last edited by toms100#4703 on Feb 13, 2025, 10:57:50 PM
