unknown damage modifier?

hi,

pretty new player here, about a month, working on my first char, a warrior.
level 80 and ran into something i dont quite understand.

i have this breach ring and its adding damage figures to my skill tab that does not fit.

ring in question:

rare: Rift Twirl Breach Ring

1-6 lightning damage
3% increased fire damage
159 to accuracy rating
22% all elemental resists
21% cold resist
20% chaos resist

nothing special by any means, definitely no numbers that suggest the kinds of damage boost im seeing on my skills tab

so here are these numbers:

without ring on:

mace attack dps: 30,799
totem dps: 8,725
leap slam damage: 12,913
hammer of the gods damage: 268,240

when i put the ring on, here are the same numbers:

mace attack dps: 31,868
totem dps: 9,550
leap slam damage: 13,362
hammer of the gods dps: 268,240 (unchanged)


so i thought it could be that little 1-6 light dmg? tested other rings with more light damage, did not see the same results

i tested rings with % fire damage, same thing, did not see jumps that high.

im thinking this may be a bug/visual glitch, but, to get a better conclusion, what are your thoughts on this? is there something i am missing?

Check your chance to hit with and without the ring. It's probably the accuracy giving you a higher chance to hit, making your DPS go up.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

thank you, this actually makes sense, explains why my hammer of the gods damage remains unchanged, as it always hits.
