Essence cluster vanish upon activation

Ran into an Essence cluster in Deshar (act 2), while lvling a new monk character. Upon triple clicking the essence cluster for it to activate, they simply vanished instead of coming to life. No mobs, no loot, no visual hints of anything or anything else, just gone. Blinked out of existance if you will.
