Cannot link steam account

Hi,

I am currently attempting to link my steam account. The account that i have logged into under my current name seems to display a character that I am unaware of.

When attempting to connect my steam account; I logged in through the connect steam account, clicked on the confirmation link, however, there are no changes to my account and the steam account seems not to have linked to the server.

Any help would be much appreciated.
