Thoughts on the POE2 0.2.0 and Delay of PoE 3.26 – A Player’s Perspective
Hi GGG,
I’m a long-time Path of Exile player who has participated in nearly every league since PoE 3.9. With the recent announcement of the PoE 3.26 delay, I wanted to share some thoughts and suggestions from a player's perspective. First and foremost, take your time. I understand that PoE2 requires significant polishing and that resources are being prioritized accordingly. As someone who enjoys both games, I appreciate the effort going into making them the best they can be. For PoE2, while you previously mentioned plans to reset the economy during early access in preparation for version 0.2.0, I’d suggest reconsidering the timing of this update. Many new players are still exploring different classes and builds, and the active player count suggests that interest in learning the game remains high. Instead of pushing out a new league too quickly, it might be more beneficial to extend the current 0.1.X phase and focus on fixing bugs and refining mechanics. For PoE1, I’d love to see small-scale league refresh events similar to previous December events like Endless Delve and Gauntlet. Recent initiatives, such as the Necropolis Settlers refresh, have been fantastic, and it would be exciting to see a mix of past league mechanics incorporated into 3.26. Given the success of certain leagues, a thoughtfully curated event could keep the community engaged while PoE2 development progresses. These are just some friendly suggestions from a passionate player. Thanks for all the hard work you put into both games—I’m excited to see what’s next! From my PoV I'd actually recommend that GGG be more aggressive in pushing out updates as letting "known problems" linger probably isn't the message that GGG should be conveying.
For "bug" fixes I would make hot fixes available to people that have been running into bugs. Those people could then test the fix to validate that the bug is fixed and also to lessen the chances of the bugs having unintended impacts. I'd then bundle up bug fixes that have been validated and get those pushed out. As for issues that the devs believe only require small tweaks I'd also fast track patches to address those issues. Where I would advise that GGG take plenty of time is when making any semi-major changes they need to take a step back and make sure that they not only make changes to their target issue / mechanic but to also consider how that change will impact everything else and then tweak the all related systems with the update in mind. For "new leagues", and thus economy resets for the new league, I'd try to release those once every 4-6 weeks and continue with that sort of timing as long as the economy and related systems still aren't working as intended. Waiting 3+ months for a new league / reset is waaayyy to long IMHO. |

No way you're asking for more time between resets in early access...
