Trials of Sekhemas

I want to add my gripes and complaints to the Trials of Sekhemas. After having run my second character through their second set of trials I don't feel any joy that I finished. Just relief that I don't have to do that again. This mode isn't fun or rewarding. Sure the extra points are nice but compared to how ridiculous it is it doesn't feel worth it. I hated how random it was and how punishing it felt. It was a chore and not a fun challenge.

This game mode is like a turd on a delicious piece of pie.

For anyone still struggling with the Sekhema trial, Ziggy has made a pretty decent guide which I found really helpful: https://youtu.be/C9qBnuSN2b4

I still don't love it, but it's definitely more manageable than it seemed before I watched this vid. Thanks, Ziggy!

I would like to propose one change, which might make the whole thing make more sense both structurally and thematically.
Spoiler
Rather than starting with a full honour bar and losing honour whenever you take damage, why not start us with an empty honour bar and gain honour as you overcome the trial's challenges?

Afflictions can reduce your honour, boons can improve it, and then give us some sort of bonus or benefit from going into a boss fight with a full bar: more honour = bigger bonus. Maybe a ward-like ablative defence, where hits from the a boss (and only a boss) do less damage but chew away at your honour bar as long as you have some? Since you can convert honour into keys at the end for a chance at more loot, ultimately mastering the mechanic would convert into greater rewards for overcoming it.

Structurally, this would address the structural issue that relatively minor hits can effectively ruin a run pretty early on, but not tell you that. Thematically, doesn't is just make more sense that surviving a challenge would gain you honour? Why is taking damage but surviving a dishonourable thing?

Just a thought.
Stay sane, exiles!

F trials.
What surprises me is that there is loot
and drops associated with the trials.

Like GGG anticipated anyone would want to ever do one.
There is no loot table that will ever make me zone in.

It's either that or they purposely put content in areas where
the experience is , you know i have trouble describing it without hyperbole
because i lack the vocabulary to capture the experience...perhaps

+1 for hating the Trial more than anything I've ever encountered in my 120+ hours with the game so far. The lack of respect for my time by locking out reattempts combined with the RNG makes me want to stop playing my warrior and move on to other games that value my time more. I'd rather eat a cereal bowl filled with sand than waste another hour of my life on this dungeon crawler RNG honor nonsense. Who thought anything about this ever resembled fun? I'm done with game until loot improves and this Trial garbage is sidelined or canned.
Just buy some relics with +3 merchant choices and good honour resistance.
Innocence forgives you

The trials are the most unenjoyable and unrewarding content in the game by far.
Would you like me to fix the zone.

pick door 1

+10% gold from monsters
+15% exp from monsters
+20% defense
+8% run speed

Pick door #2

+20% item quality
+10% item quantity
Monsters move 15% slower
Bosses hit 15% lower

Pick Door#3

+20% to fire resists
20% physical damage converted to fire
+15% physical damage
+10% damage to Bosses.

And if you read this and think No friggin way that is way to fun
and OP never happen .... then just turrn the '+' signs to '-' and you
have the great time we have now .

It should be called
Ventors Trials.

And all the trial options should be randomly + or -
you run could be a Glorious Exp Gold and Loot Run ... or is could be friggin tragic ...

now ... it just tragic
