Everything about Ritual is terrible.

I do mean everything.

The grind to get the audience is an RNG gated nightmare. We may hate how slow it it is to get splinters and shards for Delirium and Breach - but Ritual is a whole other level of grind.


The grind would be more tolerable if it was at least fun, but ritual encounters themselves are absolutely horrific to do for the vast majority of builds and can be absolute death traps when the already tight space is made even tighter by map geometry. Poor visual clarity, tiny arena, mobs spawn at your feet, stunlock, it's just....bad.

Loot is awful vast majority of the time - most rituals I do even with 4 points in the tree now give me nothing worth buying. Every other piece of end game content will have at least some minor reward, ritual is the only one where I end up doing a reroll, still get nothing, and that's that.

The boss fight wisp stage is buggy. I've run it 5 times now, 3 in coop, 2 solo, and had issues with wisps not leading to the exit on two occasions, in both we were able to fumble our way to the exit, but it is a mechanic that needs a rework.



The following fixes should be made:

Ritual altars should have arenas set aside on maps to ensure that they are able to provide player full mobility in the space.

Get rid of the extra effects, visual clarity is already horrific without chaos orbs, ratnados and blood waves.

Spawn mobs further from the player in Ritual.


Improve or remove the wisp phase from the boss fight, it adds nothing but frustration to the fight with the currently unreliable wisp ai.


Dramatically improve the loot pool of Ritual rewards. Nobody doing Ritual still wants Transmutes or trash tier blues. If a "strict" loot filter would not show this loot on the ground, why is it being offered as a reward? Just make it Tier 2+ rares at least.

For me, the only bad thing with ritual is the placement in the maps. I think they need more clearance in them. The visual clutter, spawning, etc, is all manageable for me when I don't have the ritual in a little hallway.
