Missing energy shield

I have Soul Jack Expert Hexers Robe and my rolls on it are

+80 to maximum energy shield
115% increased energy shield
+22 to maximum life
18.9 life regeneration per second


My levels are all above requirements and when I equip the item I have no energy shield at all and upon applying the armour my health starts at half and regens and im guessing this should be the energy shield doing this.

I then corrupted the item and got a third rune socket and all 3 contain the iron rune and even after this still no energy shield.

My previous body armour is Ghostwrithe Tattered Robe and the rolls are

+100 to energy shield
+33% to chaos resistance
50% of maximum life converted to energy shield

This armour energy shield is working fine.

Early Access Bug Reports
You probably have Eldritch Battery allocated, converting your Energy Shield to Mana.

You had ES with Ghostwrithe because it converted Life to ES; conversions happen during the same step, and a stat cannot be converted multiple times in succession (with the sole exception of damage conversion inherent to a skill). When Ghostwrithe converts Life to ES, that ES cannot be converted because the conversion step of stat calculation is over.

Your Life is set to half when you unequip Ghostwrithe because it is no longer converting 50% of your Life.
