Priorities are odd
If a skeleton crew kept POE 1 alive for 2 years just imagine what you could do if you put ALL ressources on POE 1 now.
You could have a league dished out in a 3 weeks + 2 weeks of patch notes after release. That would leave you with 4 months to take care of your EA title. Prioritizing EA over a live service game is weird. People expect EA to take a while, not the other way around. My 10cents. Last bumped on Jan 30, 2025, 12:32:17 PM

Unfortunately I don't think that's how it works. Jonathan said himself that most of the studios employees are Art people. The art they used for recent PoE1 leagues was mostly sourced from PoE2 art anyway. That means even if they pull everyone from PoE2 now, it wouldn't speed up the development of a new PoE1 league in a significant way.
Maybe it would be twice as fast, because u have a few more coders and testers, but ultimately it would still take a while. (Not sure how long it usually takes to create a league, but it shouldn't be longer than 3 months for a non expansion one) Considering they already have plans for 3.26 means they decided on the theme and maybe mechanics. Now they need to code and balance it. I don't expect 3.26 before April tbh. |
