Sad way to see Path of Exile end this way, good bye folks
Just gonna blog post and be done with it.
Been playing PoE since 2012, I've played every single softcore league except for Rampage. I truly, truly love this game. I tried path of exile 2 and it's just not for me. I will say this, I think we've been patient. We knew PoE2 was draining PoE resources for a long time. We saw it in the league quality and changes in the last 2 years. But at least, GGG always did something for Path of Exile. GGG also said an incredible amount of things since then, lots of half-truths, lots of leading statements. But this last statement just shows GGG has moved on from Path of Exile. All concerns were about Path of Exile 2 players, how they were having bugs and they had to remedy for them. In all of his statements, mentions caring for Path of exile 2 players experience and what not, but not a single one about Path of Exile players. I don't think they realize literally having nothing also counts as having a bad experience, but I don't think GGG sees Path of Exile players as something anymore. I am glad for poe2 players if they're enjoying themselves, it's just a big bummer for Path of Exile. I think this video is just the last drop really. Johnathan said they knew a while ago this was gonna happen but they waited literally to the last day to tell us this. I dunno if it's disrespectful or not, but it just feels... bad to get baited like that? Overall it just feels like they realized they had to tell something to their userbase that has followed them for years because complete silence would have been telling, but the message is all the same in the end. Maybe it's not their intention, I don't know, might sound weird, but this felt like a gut punch, I guess I had still some copium in me, but it's done. I don't see any future in Path of EXile as it is apparent the players aren't important anymore. Feel free to express your feelings or troll and have a good week folks, just had to share this as my post mortem to process my feelings of PoE so I could move on. " Nah man, you can't chalk up something this grand to ignorance and/or accidents. |

I respect your message and I send you support from afar but many of you believe that GGG has abandoned POE because they are now focusing all their limited resources on POE 2, which has a release date dictated by Tencent. I am absolutely sure that the GGG team feels very sad about the situation of their loyal followers but they cannot do anything if Tencent is in charge, not them. So I recommend that you be patient and be aware of the delicate situation that GGG is in apart from you. If they have not said anything yet it is because Tencent wants it that way, not them, and this situation could have been prevented if they had a great team of developers but that is not the case, they are very limited in hiring them in New Zealand. Just look at the state of support, they can't answer the emails they receive in at least three weeks minimum, the situation and circumstances are beyond them right now, so I encourage you not to give up, don't lose hope, I'm sure that GGG wants to please its loyal players but they simply can't do it right now due to lack of people and because the one who really rules over GGG is Tencent.

This whole situation is a punch in the gut for POE1 players. The broken promise of POE1 development not being affected is just the tip of the iceberg.
The worst part is the lack of communication and limbo of POE1. |

I'm having a pretty rough time as well. Can't play poe 2 cuz loading new zones might freeze my entire pc (thx windows 11 24h2). GGG support last resonse to my emails was 2 months ago, I did not receive my physical items from the 550$ sup pack and dunno why they cant respond with an email saying either "sry that your goodies did not arrive and were sent back to us, we are refunding your 70$ you paid extra" or "sorry for the inconvenience, we are sending the goodies once again and hopefully they will arrive in germany asap"
Now that poe 1 has been delayed like this... them being radio silent for so long and dropping this at the very last second. We're obviously having bad times as poe players/fans, but I would not go as far as quitting these games and turning my back on GGG. I'm sure they are trying their best. They've put waaaaay too many times a big as* smile on my face for me to leave now. Have some patience if you ask me m8 |
