They've messed up big time, large parts of what they've been working on for 5 years is trash and has to be completely re-worked, but the problem is.. The way the game is built and the engine they're using is very time consuming and complex to modify, if they have found adding an NPC menu item to play a music file is "more complex than initially thought" after working on the game for 5 years then imagine what they are finding with other changes, disaster.

I am a bit concerned that they're overwhelemed. I mean it's not shocking, they're running 2 games, Late on a league and dealing with all the content and feedback from poe 2. Shit's probably stretched real thin right now. Although i think it would put most people at ease if someone just said something about whats going on, A small decent update. take 20 minutes of their busy schedule i think would be worth doing.

Seriously. They had a full Q&A session preceding the last patch for the game literally 2 weeks ago. Like WTF.
They still need to build HALF THE GAME. It's in Early Access, it's not a finished product. Plus folks want a balance patch ASAP, understandably so, but a thorough balance patch requires time, testing, data analytics, and some hard discussions. I get that you want daily updates or something, but THEY HAVE WORK TO DO. Let them do it. I would be shocked if they haven't given updates and a date for the next patch within the next 3 weeks, which is to say, a month after the previous patch. Maybe sooner. To act like they're on radio silence when it's been two weeks is just ridiculous. Anything they say about What they're doing or have done is subject to change, since they're in active development, and may not be true by the next day. Anything they say about how long it will take is either going to be way too conservative to actually assuage concerns or a lie, since they honestly don't know. Let them work. |
