New to poe2 (400+hrs now) and i'm starting to get this bad feeling...

That GGG is going the route of Blizzard and OW2.

OW1 was abandoned for like two years, and when OW2 ea/alpha/beta whatever, was released to a small sample size, the response to it sounds alot like the responses currently in poe 2.

OW2 had all kinds of promises (PVE, better balance, better MTX, better character design, Better graphics, and a whole ton of stuff from ow1 that players lost (end of match rewards, scoreboard,6v6, all kinds of stuff.) Other than a format change, the game is a copy/paste of ow1 with better graphics and better shop.

Poe2 so far is doing the same as ow2, new graphics, worse shop, better mechanics, less/worse crafting, no 6 portal, trials are hated, map/endgame needs work and i'm sure there are tons of other issues.

I did not play poe until i hit endgame (lvl89 warrior/lvl92 ranger) in poe 2. I was blown away with how good poe is in comparison to poe 2. I actually learned some mechanics that helped me play poe 2 from the old game. If Poe had the new "wasd/dodge/block" stuff, there would be absolutely no reason to play poe 2.(It's sad poe is currently in zombie mode for i don't know how long)


I enjoy both games, however i'm worried that GGG is going to abandon poe 1 (like overwatch 1) and leave us with this game that has better graphics, a few minor mechanics and a copy/paste of poe that is missing all of the awesome stuff poe has to offer.

I know this is EA, and i really hope GGG doesn't go the route of blizzard and overwawtch, please help me change my view that poe 2 is going to become overwatch 2.

I am having fun with this game, and i don't plan on quitting any time soon. I just don't want to sink like 5k hours into this for it to end up like ow2 or destiny 2.

they have done some great updates so far, even tho they did not come in with the much needed nerfs of op zooom zoom dps builds. Unless they fix that, you might actually be correct. But so far i looks good, good updates and good public information, we will see season 1. If we go back to slow and methodical, then great success - the future is saved. Else - you are correct and we will start having poe1 but in a new graphic format with instagibbing screen builds.

however, as for poe1, i think it will become less and less relevant as with all previous titles.

Don't worry, by the time you sink 5k hours into this game with minimum of 6 hours sleep every night playing constantly and not stopping to eat or use the washroom, it'll take 9 months minimum, should be a few updates by then
