The Game still Hard Crashes, risking bricking the PC

The hard crash bug that locks up the entire OS and requires manual shutdown by pressing the power button has been around for more than 50 days.

There is still not a fix in sight.

Once again I'm bumping with these questions, in hopes that maybe they will get answered by GGG's official staff:

1) What went wrong?

2) What you are doing to fix it?

3) What possible causes have you eliminated as the source of the problem?

4) What triggers have you discovered that starts the resource hog loop other than "zone change"? (This one is really important because it allows players to create workarounds)

5) What is your estimated time of fix?

6) How did this sort of bug managed to avoid detection in your testing period?

7) What you will be doing to compensate players that have been affected by this issue?

8) Whether refunds would be made available for those that are no longer interested in playing the game?

To other paying customers like me who have spent their money on this faulty product:

As long as GGG is not interested in open communication our only other option is to increase the pressure and warn others by giving a negative review for Path of Exile 2 on Steam in a detailed and informative manner.
I cannot send/reply to direct messages because my in-game character has not finished Act 1.
What to do:
1)Write a short review about the hard crashes in notepad.
2)Copy and paste it to steam reviews, put up a negative review.
3)Copy and paste it to steam discussions, put it up there.

What about you? what have you tested and not tested? are you aware of outside issues like using Windows 11? what hardware are you using?
Tech guy
I also would really like an answer on this super frustrating bug to an otherwise amazing game.
That's fine but did y'all do research about it? there's already hints, make sure you aren't effected by these first, then you can blame the game. You have to go with a process of elimination.

I did do a lot of different things, getting help from good friends, that is really great with tech and such, and they couldn't find a way aswell.

Its unfixable for me, and its really frustrating because I need to grind more for the league skins in PoE1, but I get these pc freezes multiple times a day, and its really frustrating...

Dude, there's a 400+ page thread on the bug report thread that's been up nearly 2 months with all the research that people have done so far. You can read it if you have any real interest on the issue but it's definitely the game's fault.

It happens more commonly on Windows 11 after the 24H2 update, but it has happened on Windows 10, other versions of 11 and some Linux distributions as well. Doesn't matter if you are using NVidia, AMD or Intel either and only happens on POE2 and 1, no other games.

There's some community made workarounds that work for some people but no official solution, progress update nor workaround given by GGG.

As for me, I've decided to wait until an official fix, cause on the offchance that the community workarounds don't work for me, I'd just get an OS freeze again.

They are at it, at least if that is the problem that they also talked aobut in the interview. They said that the error is very hard for them to replicate and tricky do debug. However, as they also mentioned in the interview, they did implement a way for players to send them debug information now, which should help.

Even if its another problem, looking at the thread in the bug report section, they are definitely aware of the problem and working on fixing it.

Just to make this clear, because there seem to be quite some people who do not understand this: This is EARLY ACCES.

You bought access to BETA TEST the game. I get that this problem specifically is very frustrating, nevertheless this is to be expected when testing.

Its absolutely insane that you seriously rage like that, asking for compensation or a refund. Maybe don't beta test games if this is your mindset, lol.
Besides, you basically paid 30$ for in-game currency and got the EA access along with it. At least from that perspective its not like you lost anything.

Lol. It is absolutely not to be expected that the game hard locks PCs and literally bricks them, potentially causing thousands of dollars in damage. This is absolutely cause for a refund. Trying to call others insane for not wanting their computers destroyed is... yeah.

Well it happends in PoE1 aswell, and that is not early access, so you can't really say that.

But im sure they're working on it, would just be nice to have a status on this <3

No way the game causes computers to be destroyed, if somebody's computer get destroyed they had faulty hardware.
