warrior is dumb

hello,

i've played a lot of arpgs in my time, and a common thread is that the warrior class is always the button-mashing "hulk smash" kind of class. it's meant to be the easy class that introduces players to the arpg genre.

but in poe2 the warrior class is just plain annoying to play. what the heck is the point of an "earthquake" skill that takes about a minute to actually fire off (even with the "fast forward" support gem)? most enemies just follow my dodge-rolling character and are a mile away when it actually causes damage.

the rolling slam skill is annoying that it always repeats too. why can't we just have a simple "slam" skill without having to be locked into a second animation? and internet research tells me there's a third slam in the later game that is INTERRUPTABLE! why the heck would i want a power attack to waste 2 animations and then be interruptable before it actually does decent damage?!?!

and why would anyone use "bone shatter"? it basically says, "stop button mashing at this exact moment to cause aoe damage to a single target". why not just continue button-mashing and naturally do aoe damage if there are nearby enemies?

and "armour breaker" breaks 15 armour? great. at level 10 i have 250 armour, and i assume enemies have something similar. why not just continue button mashing instead of pausing to do math to see if 15 less armour actually means anything.

at this point i've played all 6 classes, at least until act 2 (i'm still working through act 1 with warrior though), and the warrior class is the only class that has no skills better than the basic attack. shield charge is kind of useful, but the cooldown is just long enough that i can't actually use it to zip around the battlefield in a satisfying way.

how can you ruin such a simple class?!?! warrior is supposed to be the "fun" class, but you've made it so complicated and annoying that i just don't want to play it. i've only lasted this long because this game is AUD$50 and nearly 100GB to download; which, by the way, is ridiculous, especially since the game is low resolution and upscaled using specialty video card drivers. for 100GB download, i expect at the very least full HD! titan quest (which is nearly 20 years old now) fit on a single CD and had very similar graphics and game play.

gods, why do i even bother.

thanks.

Give warrior one more chance. Wait until you are able to get Cultist Hammer .

Try this : https://mobalytics.gg/poe-2/builds/woolie-giants-blood

Warrior was my first class too. When i got to level 40 i deleted him. I expected with talents , ascendancies and more support gems for it to change , but it didnt. After a month or so i found out that build and once i was able to equip Cultist hammer,it was complete change.

Lack of attack speed is compensated with whole screen explosion in one swing , so its worth it. You need to keep in mind , in order to be able to equip Expert Cultist Greathammer , you gonna need 650 STR ... that means you gonna need max str on all items that can have STR and you gonna have to re-arrange passive tree , taking some of the dps nodes out in order to get more str nodes.

If u dont like meta , this build is for you . But if you like fast pace ,map clears in 1 minute , oneshot 4 screens of mobs in 0.5 sec , then you gotta play trash twtich builds.

I agree that the "out-of-box" earthquake is too slow and not practical during early campaign. Later on u can reduce it's duration by alot tho, up to 80% reduced as a Titan even without "fast forward". With the support it's 86%.
It makes for a pretty good endgame skill, although not comparable to meta build speed.

That one I don't understand. The game can be run in 4k native resolution without upscaling. It looks very good and nothing like Titan Quest. Just disable Dynamic Resolution. Maybe u just want to vent, but at least be somewhat accurate.

Sounds like you haven't noticed the passive tree.

Earthquake too slow? Get reduced duration nodes.
Get interrupted during a slow attack? Get stun threshold nodes.

Your assumption about Armour Breaker is downright nonsense. Try using the skill.

These complaints are downright invalid unless you need more tooltips for how this stuff works?

Warriors are always dumb. That´s a tradition.
Only Hulk has visited a university. There is only one dr smash.

That's what you don't understand what warrior should be right there, just like the devs. Bt playing a warrior, you shouldn't have to think. In Grim Dawn, you can make a great warrior with only passives to destroy everything only with the basic attack. Warrior is supposed to be the newbie class that can win without much thought to push the players to try something else after.
