Amimation cancelling on levers

Hi,
this is at least the 10th time I am dying while pulling a bloody lever in a map.
Enemies that are not on my screen swarm me while I am in the lever animation and I die.
PLEASE allow us to cancel the pull and defend ourselves!!~!!!!
