Auto-Aim on Controller is Still Complete Trash (for casting at least)

I play with controller 100% of the time. I find that I've stuck mostly with the Witch and Sorceress for ALL of my starts and I haven't gone anywhere fancy with any theory-crafting. I've stuck with the stereotypical Occult and Elemental skill tabs. So basically, all I do is cast. I have to say, even after the latest improvements to auto-aim in patch 0.1.1, auto-aim is still total trash. I can't tell you how many times I have raised my voice at the current "auto-aim" to: - stop aiming away from the boss when the boss is the only enemy in the room. - stop aiming at a normal rarity enemy at the far edge of the screen when I'm swarmed by a group of enemies on my other side. - stop aiming at an enemy that is on the other side of a wall, corner, tree, whatever, that's a decent distance away, instead of the enemies right in front of me. - stop aiming at a normal enemy at the very edge of a pack of enemies instead of a normal enemy in the center of the pack. - stop casting my curse at a pack of enemies that aren't the enemies that are right on top of me. - stop casting at the lone enemy that is not close to the boss I'm fighting and instead cast towards the boss that has their minions surrounding them. At the end of the day, auto-aim is more of a struggle than it is helpful. It spends the user's valuable resources (opportunity and mana) on such weak and pointless targets, that the user has to spend the time fighting the consequences of auto-aim instead of fighting the enemies in front of them. I have spent countless times in battle not being able to cast something because I'm out of mana (because I've been casting my mana-heavy curses at dumb places in a boss fight). I have spent countless times walking backwards from a huge pack of enemies while channelling Incinerate trying to burn as many enemies as I can, to suddenly turn around and start casting at nothing or one solitary pointless normal enemy on my other side me. The number of times that I fight auto-aim instead of the enemy makes me think that I'm fighting in a rigged boxing match and auto-aim was paid under the table by the enemies to put me in outrageous situations. Please take a strong look at auto-aim again (and again and again if need be). It's in a really bad place. It's so glaring poor in every fight that I'm in, that I find every fight un-fun. The game isn't fun to turn on because of auto-aim. It's the main reason I feel like I'm playing Path of Exile 2 as a chore instead of for fun. There's NO CONSISTENCY to the current auto-aim from the user's perspective and it really sucks to play with. Thanks and good luck! Wrecker On a side note even if auto-aim was simplified to always cast at the closest enemy...I know that would have some frustrating situations, but at least the user would be able to predict what would happen and more naturally play around the consistency. Or maybe even have an option in the Options screen where the user has the option to choose between having auto-aim focus on the closest enemy or on the highest rarity enemy.
