Explosive Shot + The Three Dragons

Hey, I play Explosive Shot Deadeye.
I am really confused about the The Three Dragon Mask, as ingame and pob stats are not accurate. I googled a bit but still not sure.

So, the Helmet lets Fire DMG from Hits contribute to Shoch Chance.

Does this mean:
1. if a skill deals Fire DMG, the skill can now apply Shock to enemies?
OR
2. adding "Adds 30 to 32 Fire Damage" to a weapon increasing the general shock chance?

And how is the conversation rate of Element DMG -> Element Chance?

For example "Explosive Shot".
80% of Phys.DMG as Fire DMG -> Fire DMG == Shock Chance

Now is it better to add "Adds 30 to 32 Fire Damage" or increasing Phys.DMG as it can be stacked higher?

The answer to both 1 & 2 is: yes.

However, increasing generic chance to shock on tree/jewels/etc is the better approach. Still, the harder you hit the higher the chance to apply ailments.

As far as conversion goes:
In PoE2 any given stat does not remember its origin and therefore can only be scaled by the new thing.
So in your case scaling phys dmg wont do much, except for scaling the remaining 20% phys dmg that havent been converted but thats obviously not helping with shock at all.

But Explosive Shot does get his main dmg from Phys.Dmg convertion. So how does increasing more Phys.Dmg wont do much?

And the skill does like 8k Fire Dmg, so adding "Adds 30 to 32 Fire Damage" would be an increase of less than 1% dmg. Would that be a useless stat on the weapon?
damage mods apply to post-conversion damage

if you're dealing 4k fire damage and 1k phys damage, increasing your physical damage from the tree/jewels will only affect the physical portion

30-32 fire damage would be more than 1% more damage, because that is before all the damage modifiers are applied

three dragons simply changes how the ailments are calculated, you're still scaling your damage the same way. getting more fire damage will make your hits more likely to shock, that's it
