PoE2 / Steam fails to detect installed game
|
After a regular restart of my PC, steam randomly no longer recognizes PoE2 as installed, even though the folder is intact and all the files are there.
This is happening to me the 3rd time this month. Only solution seems to be deleting the folder and downloading 90 gigs of game data every time. It is extremely frustrating, please tell me how to fix it. Thanks. Last bumped on Dec 15, 2025, 2:19:32 AM

I'm the OP. It seems to me that it's a synchronization issue.
I think my problem was caused by turning off (or restarting) my PC right after I have exited the game. I have not been doing it, (now I wait for at least 20 mins before turning off my PC after each session) and I have not encountered this problem again thus far. I'd advise you to do the same. |

"Is your game installed on a different drive than Steam is installed? Do you have sleep mode enabled for that drive in the advanced power options of Windows? |

" No to both questions. Last edited by dontsleep#4897 on Apr 28, 2025, 6:58:25 AM
