Do we need a "Orb of Regret" for current crafting?
Tldr: What are your thoughts on a new Orb of Regret that can alter rare items and revert the last craft on the item with a percentage chance to simply poof the item like the current vaal orb?
It would give you the option to decide whether you want to continue slaming after a bad affix, ditch the item and find a new one or try your luck with a chance of regretting the last craft and revert the item somehow. Would only be usable after a new craft has been added again or even "vaal" or "split/mirror" the item so it can only be done once. I recently thought about the possibilities of crafting in the current PoE2 and after watching Quin69's feedback on the CaptainLance take on crafting I was thinking about the possibility to alter a "bricked" slam in some way and this seemed like a possible take for the devs to give us some sort of item alteration without deterministic systems added to the game Let me say this - this was a uninformed idea of mine and I am not that deep into crafting in PoE2 right now so roast me if I am totally wrong about it. " ABSOLUTELY NOT. It's effectively Eternal Orb with a chance to fail and unless the chance to fail is more than 90% that item can't coexist with mirror. And there is already way to undo last craft - annul/chaos optionally with omen. Last edited by DemonikPath#1311 on Jan 22, 2025, 8:10:55 AM

Okay maybe I need to look into Omens more. As I said this could potentially be a way of regretting with a huge downside and even if it lands it can lock the item for another use. This would atleast be in the universe of randomized crafting like a vaal orb with potential one time upside for crafting or a huge loss if it fails. But maybe its just to "wonky" or difficult of a mechanic to really be balanceable or usable.
