Monster Mana Siphon Modifier: Please Look Into This (Again)

Last Monster of an Atlas Map:

Vilespume
- Siphons Mana and Deals Lightning Damage
- Regenerates Life
- Periodic Cold Explosions
- Extra Crits
- Lightning Mirages When Hit

Waystone Level: 4 (or 3, cant remember)

My Class: Witch/Blood Mage, lvl 74

(Apologies for cut off, using windows snippet record for first time
Skills on bar are Spark, Firestorm, Firewall, and Comet)
I also have a couple minute video as well, but its 400mb so not sure how to best link/send it.

GGG:
Reasonable methods on dealing with an enemy like this as a caster?
Nuke it before it even reaches you once?
Having 'insta' mana regen and/or leech, or Lifetap yourself to mitigate the ~4 second mana drain?

Obviously I'm not a veteran skilled player, but is this really the type of challenge intended?

Mana siphoners suck your mana on the ring/donut. You're safe inside the donut. Dodge/blink close, move behind them and do a burst.

It's challenging, might be dangerous in some situations, but completely doable :)
You have to get inside the blue ring to not get mana drained, which I think needs to be better communicated in the game, to be honest. I didn't know this until someone told me about it, and apparently, many players had no idea either.
Yeah inside the ring is the safe area in this instance with the mana siphon mod, it's not very clear at all though

you are right, even after playing poe1, most of the time i have no clue what certain mods mean and how to deal with them. it is not possible to figure out what kind of damage just killed me or what some of the effects do to you. maybe i am dumb but i can not tell if i have a bleed effect on me for example. if playing with controller there is also still no indicator for when a charm gets used.

i wish we had a description for all the mods and damage types of the different enemies in game, would also make it much easier for newcomers to look stuff up if they want to learn, now you can just guess.

I used to have issues with mana siphoners for such a long time.

Now since I revolve my builds around tankiness I dont notice them that often. On mages I noticed them the most because i couldnt really stand next to them to ignore the aoe damage and dont have enough movement speed to outrun them. I never played a minion build so dont know how hard it is for those guys.

the big issue is when that mod lands on a boss like doriyani, where his 2nd phase he takes up the entire center of the ring and you cant get into the middle of the ring as melee.
My issue is less with the Siphoning ring specifically, and it's the combination of all those modifiers seem extremely targeted (not tastefully?).

Gawdbless the community about the 'doughnut hole' safe zone in the Siphoner Aura.
...but then lets put it on non-average sized creature
...lets also give it regen
...and on hit effects, that spam AoEs that 'home'
...and multiple freezes inside the Siphoner's doughnut hole.

Just seems wildly unnatural and extremely targeted.

It's makes me sort of think of how someone who may try and go for a crit build, than comes across a crit resist, or maybe crit immune. Which makes more sense since it's literally anti build.

This Combination just seems less anti-build and more anti classes, or anti-resource(mana).

Ok rant done. Thank you all from commenting!
