why is it taking ~5min to load to character select?

i sit there at watch the 2 gears spin forever before I can login

Game crashes my PC hard. Frozen actually. Gears stop and ctrl+alt+del doesn't respond, only holding power to shut down. Pretty harsh.
Before that I had long load times too. Console loot filter for POE2 Please!
