HCSSF/HC global chat is now TERRIBLE after the merge

The hardcore chat has gotten far worse since the two leagues got merged. I enjoy both leagues, but mostly see the SSF side, and the downgrade is remarkable.

Apart from the usual dumb "current events" discussions, it was filled with people sharing items they found or crafted, bosses they finally defeated, levels they reached, etc.

Now 80% of chat is arguing over which league is superior, ragebaiting or serious, it doesn't matter.

Also, it detracts from the chat experience of both league's players. I can mostly speak for the SSF side, but seeing an extremely good item linked in chat lost its meaning, and so did messages like "campaign down for the first time!".

Now people are asking for boss kills, carries, gear for characters on starting out and price checks. It annoys a lot of the original community.

I've seen names that I recognize from the past month and a half voice similar concerns, so I thought it deserved a forum post.

This isn't about elitism. Enjoy the league you want to play, but let us have our own community.

People begging for carries should be considered trading and chat bannable.

Actually asking for carries should net an invincible monster with infinite damage in your next map that just sends your character to the void. I never understood the people that pay others for their voidstones in hc.

I closed gen chat the other day from people just being annoying i just figured these people wouldnt play hc long and the problem would solve itself

100% agree, why play hardcore if you're going to buy your way through half the game?

The vast majority of players don't seem to be doing that, but it's annoying how that diminishes the achievement of the rest of the community. In SC, I understand, sure.
