Suggestion to improve weapon sets: TWO sets of skill gem lists.

Add in the concept of Weapon Set Skill Lists. Make two entire lists of skill gem slots, each of which works independently of the other. This would mean that you could, sort of, have the same skill modifiers twice, but not equipped at the same time. Each skill slot could be toggled as "Swap" or "NO swap" in the first weapon slot set. If it is toggled as "No Swap", then that skill gem would apply to both sets. If it was toggled as "Swap". then the gem in that slot would seem to disappear when the second weapon slot is equipped, and could then be slotted with another skill.

For example, let's say a Ranger has a crossbow in her second weapon slot. She decides to slot Grenade as a "No Swap" and use that skill to switch to the crossbow, and leaves Lightning Arrow also as a "no Swap" to switch back to the bow. She then sets up the rest of her skill slots as Swapping ones, putting all the bow skills in Weapon Set 1, and all the crossbow skills in set 2.

Any modifier in Grenade or Lightning arrow would still be exclusive, while she could put the same modifiers in, say, Fragmentation Rounds and Poisonburst Arrow (Say, having Scattershot in both) - the idea being that even though they are the same modifier, they're not equipped at the same time.

I guess my only counterpoint would be that if players are exploding the screen with a single attack in t10 maps then where does this fit into it?

I guess you could arbitrarily switch between them mid map?
Well, its obvious that the support system promotes using a single skill for damage so this needs to be addressed if that is not their intent. But doubling down on what I think is a pretty bad skill config page is not my idea of a solution. Unfortunately, if they keep the system as it is(one config page, 2 weapon sets) then we just have to wait for more supports to be added. And they have a ton to add. I think that we're stuck with what we have until they add the weapons, skills, and supports. We may find there are a ton more options that are good or even better than what is available now.
The main reason I suggest this is, why have the ability to have two completely different weapons, if you can't have effective skills for both?
Obviously they have already made some adjustments with allowing multiple instances of supports, but this idea is kinda nice.

I'm currently forced to manually switch support gems to a skill when mapping/vs bosses or some difficult rares (mostly renegerative+intangible/evasive).


I'm running 2 weapons, one for map clearing one for bosses. I like to use nova projectiles and ice bite, obviously these support gems are useless for bosses.

One way to get around this would be to allow having 2 times the same gem on different weapon sets (hence op:s idea would be really nice)


I'm also kinda forced to have extra skill gem just to store the support gems for swapping since default attack cant wield all of the support gems.
