Arbiter of Ash fight bugged and dropped NOTHING/Completely broken

I spent the past several hours farming up for the Arbiter of Ash run, I went in with a friend. I died to his AOE that you have to be in the circle for, but my bell with culling strike executed him at the same time. I restarted the map since it said I have remaining revives and the map loaded and he instantly died as I approached him. He dropped the book for atlas points and nothing else. The people are in my way of getting the 'power awaits you' in the corner and I can't get anything now. How is this fair to me for spending hours and even a div to get the map going just for him to not drop anything?
