Bosses through out the leveling campaign are way too tanky (after level 30)
I have played through the campaigns with a friend and although the loot is HORRIBLE and the the bosses were tedious we managed to pull through so i decided to level up a new char.
Except this time i got currency at my disposal to at least buy some gear thinking that going through the campaigns will be easier. Not only was I wrong... I was SUPER wrong! Jesus Christ I tried multiple spells with sorcerer thinking that hte issue is the spells i am using but that isn't it... I thought having an awesome weapon would also help out (considering the trash i could wear was i counting only on drops/venderos) but that isn't it as well... the bosses you fight are fought in way too small areans where they have way too much aoe and it takes way too long before you can take them down! Most of the time they 2-3 tap me and I go down and even if i upgrade the gear to its best the best i will manage to get is 1 more hit which in plenty of situations will make no difference because of the rapid attacks of the bosses. On my first char I am on my tier 10 maps with gear that is roughly 1 divine and 10 exalts in cost... i am running through those maps like there is no tomorrow yet for some reason the difficulty on the campaign is miles and miles ahead. It is very slow very tedious and I don't see a reason for it. Even if I am ok with wasting a ton of time going through the ENORMOUS maps filled with mobs I don't understand the idea behind giving the bosses huge HP pools just so I can reach maps where they are literally as easy as taking down a blue mob in the campaign. There are way too many unrewarding and unfun mechanics in this game. The crafting sucks! The obtaining of items suck! The droped item suck so hard it isn't even remotely funny! Am I alone in this or are there other people experiencing this.... 'problem' Last bumped on Jan 17, 2025, 12:52:08 PM

just your build issue really, you overestimated the strength of your build, or just picking the wrong skill.
I do agree that some skills are quite underwhelming, especially in the elemental category. Comet is really good for bossing btw, deal shit tons of damage and freeze them. Use that. Seriously the hardest part of the campaign was first 2 act in normal. After that it's EASY because you have much more better skills/spells and better gears. If you can pass through the first two act, but struggle in later act I not sure what to tell you... plus you play trade, if you not face-rolling through the campaign, there really something wrong with how you setup your build or how you play the boss mechanics. I'll agree with you on the loot and crafting, it's really bizarre how loot works and I still don't quite understand what they were going for. Like midway thru on my warrior I could find a magic advanced maul with 2 decent modifiers, I'd regal it and get something like "adds 3-7 fire damage" or "14% increased physical damage" something retardedly terrible like that.
Then you could goto a vendor and see an ordinary maul with irrelevant base damage, and it would roll +85% physical damage as a mod.. it annoyed and confused me because it would still be unusable.. it's base damage wasnt relevant to the Alvl I was currently in anymore, so the 85% damage mod didn't do enough to make it usable. I was constantly asking myself like "why?".. Why am I always finding higher level rare items with inherently FAR lower stat variances? I'm not joking when I say I put all my resources into trying to find a maul that did better damage, cause I did also find the boss fights took to long. I checked vendors every level, all my gold went towards gambling, crafted and reforged ANY magic or common maul with somewhat promising base dmg or mods. Like the bosses are well designed and were fun, but the fights felt really dragged out because for 30 hours I simply couldn't get a sensible physical damage modifier on my weapon. Same for wands, I'm replaying with a sorc and the wand I found in act one shop is still far better then anything else and Im now starting A3 in cruel. 5 acts without a weapon upgrade.. It seems like the modifier variance is absolutely random. A lvl 9 rare wand shouldn't be able to roll significantly higher spell damage then a lvl 50 wand imo. During my 2nd run thru the campaign I don't even bother picking up magic items other then to sell them, crafting feels super bad and it only pays off probably 5% of the time so I just choose not to engage with it on items I will inevitably out level in the endgame. It's better to just save your currency and not use it and that can't be what they intended. Last edited by Tpike92#5857 on Jan 17, 2025, 12:07:23 PM

You are not alone. What I did was equip a quarterstaff on weapon swap, and nuke bosses with Tempest Bells. Like 5 of them. You can target your spells on the bells too. Just have to respec into some dex so you can equip it.
