Gem Stash tab "no space" bug

I made a HCSSF and have a completely empty stash including gem stash. I tried putting in a skill gem lvl 1 I didn't need. I tried putting it in the stash, but nothing happened and I got the text saying " Your Stash Tab with the Gem Affinity does not have enough space for this item" while my stash clearly does?

[SOLVED] The problem was that it was the first skill gem awarded and the game won't let you store it... you MUST use it. This is still a bug, but just a different bug. The messaging was poor/non-existent which made the behavior confusing.

I started a new league character today and am seeing the same bug on PC. I have a Gems stash tab with Gem affinity (checked or unchecked both give the same error). I have tried moving the Uncut Skill Gem L1 into the stash using CTRL+<left click> and left click and drop. Both give the same error.

I haven't played in several months... since the launch. Did not play league season 1. Purchased the tab shortly after launch and it was working at that time.

This was the solution for me, too. Until I saw this, I thought my gem affinity stash tab was completely broken, looking like a blank page without a grid on it.

That first gem just doesn't want to be stashed. smh. Thank you.
