So. Waystones. Again.
Heya Community,
just wondering if I am doing something wrong here. Prior to .1.1 I would barely sustain the waystone range of 14-15. 15 being like a blue moon thing mainly due to me being a little dimwitted and not doing enough bosses.... So first impressions now though are: -More Bosses = awesome -More waystone drops overall However, playing rare T14 vaal waystones and dropping 2 T15 in around 10 maps is a little...no. I do drop a lot of waystones however. Mostly T10<. What's the point of that? Yea yea reforge but honestly I doubt anyone wants to sit there 20min out of 60 reforging Waystones mindnumblingly and developing carpal tunnel from single item inserts, drag mouse over, take reforged item out, put it back in, etc From 6 bosses I dropped a whooping total of 0 T15s and only 4 Waystones overall. Obviously my sample size is tiny but aren't waystones an essential endgame mechanic? Or is this something where I am supposed to set up a specific farming strat now to get endgame mechanic features? Not saying this is wrong. But I guess...help? Last bumped on Jan 17, 2025, 7:24:42 AM

Err…they mentioned in patch that waystone drop from bosses will be reduced since boss fight in map will be more frequents so in order to keep sustaining it you need to do more boss fight. Have the right atlas skill point allocated and try doing maps with 150% above waystone drop
Good luck |

So GGG's response to new players' problems getting waystones is to force them to fight MORE bosses where the probability of death is greater meaning the XP loss will mean the new players taking forever to progress.
Of course, making the map fail for asingle death means new players' trying to learn the fights face even more frustration .. at the same time as GGG have given the 'gitgud' brigade SIX attempts at the pinnacle bosses .. clearly showing where their priorities lie. Instead of punishing GGG should be encouraging .. but they have to pander to the 'gitgud' brigade. Last edited by TheRealKraggy#0533 on Jan 17, 2025, 5:16:23 AM

" I don't know what the absolute best way to get more waystones is. I can only tell you what works for me. The last 15-20 t15 maps I ran, I got about 35-40 t15 waystones out of. I personally like many monsters in my maps, so I focus on that with my atlas passives. On the top I take Teeming Horde, Local Knowledge and Precursor Influence. On the bottom left I take Rising Danger, Twin Threats, Bountiful Bloodlines, Expanding Hordes and Deadly Evolution. On the bottom right I take Constant Crossroads, Lucky Pillage, Fortunate Path and The High Road. This also keeps the maps fairly easy, since the affixes are not increased. If I would take the increased effect of explicit waystone modifiers, I would have to check what I rolled on my waystones. That I don't want to do, therefor I go the other Atlas passive route. Like I said, this may not be optimal, but it works for me. As for waystones, I just Transmute, Augment and Regal them. On the Atlas I path to towers first. If a map has no additional content I just use a t10 or t11 waystone, for waystones with at least one +1 level I use the t15 ones. On the towers I use mostly regular tablets. When I get more Boss tables I will use them more. I also aim to kill most monsters in my map. If the overlay map, on the top right says more than 50 monsters left, I keep killing, even if all rares are dead. I am for at least less than 30. Because often there are some magic packs left and I already got quite some maps from them as well. And of course, don't die. Last edited by Avaricta#4758 on Jan 17, 2025, 5:44:00 AM

" I realized yesterday. 1) Spec atlas into waystones 2) pickup every low level waystone and fuse them with a bench There is no other way to sustain |

How’s your atlas? I run juiced t15s all of the time except augury, and Vaal factory and towers and I have stashes full of t15 maps, as they are dropping like candy.
It could be your atlas points. |

Waystone Atlas points + increase Waystone Drop chance % tablet + increase drop quantity of Waystones from tablet.
That's pretty much the formula to gain more Waystones to drop. Other than that, GGG explicitly mentioned that bosses will drop FEWER Waystones due to the compensation of having Map Bosses for 1 in 4 maps. Pre-patch, I was looting approximately 3-4 T15's per Map Boss Drop. Post-patch, 2-3 T15's from map boss and maybe 1-2 from Magic/Elite Mobs. I'm sustaining my T15's and still using T14's to gain T15's as a last resort. |
